About Robert Fontenot
Robert Fontenot is a Los Angeles-based artist whose work explores contemporary themes using a wide variety of techniques such as oil painting, bread dough sculpting, hand embroidery, appliqué and other forms of needlework. Current series include RISE, which uses bread dough sculpture depicting scenes of love, violence, and historical importance as a means to explore the macabre undertones of gothic and neo-classical decorative schemes, ACTION/ADVENTURE DREAMS, a group of small oil paintings that examine intimacy, masculinity and danger, and WE HAVE LITTLE LIVES, a group of even smaller oil paintings of injured men. Fontenot has exhibited at the Salt Lake City Art Center, Occidental College, Torrance Art Museum, Elizabeth Dee Gallery, Enview Gallery, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, Mark Moore Gallery, Jancar Gallery, and QED Gallery. He is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design.
